This is the latest European Citizens' Panel (ECP) held by the European Commission. The topic of this Panel is Preparedness, and it is made in support of the new Commissioner, Hadja Lahbib, who is the first Commissioner to have Preparedness as a part of her portfolio. ECPs are a fixed part of the activities undertaken by the Commission. They are an international flagship model for citizens' engagement, gathering 150 citizens from 27 Member States, providing a full language regimen for all 24 official European languages. Citizens meet and deliberate over three extended weekends and provide recommendations directly to the European Commission.
