Scientific progress allows for the growth of organisms which otherwise would not emerge. These are the so-called genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Their use raises many hopes but also concerns about genetic engineering going too far. It is vital the law is kept under review to reflect scientific advances in the field of GMO development and use. We should also try to assess the risks and benefits associated with genetically modified organisms.
