Risk of emergence of viral diseases caused by eco-climatic changes and socio-economic situations
The emergence of a viral disease and its distribution are conditioned by various factors, such as the presence of the virus and its host, the environmental and climatic conditions favoring the transmission and distribution of the virus, as well as socio-economic factors. VIRORISK proposes to assess the risk of emergence of a viral disease in Belgium through an integrated risk factor surveillance and risk analysis method based on the following disciplines: virology, entomology and socio-economic risk analysis -economic environment.
