The UK games industry is the largest in Europe employing around 28,000 people. After the US and Japan, the UK games market is the third largest in the world. This POSTnote looks at the issues surrounding the influence of violent computer games on children and adolescents. Research on the impact of computer games on aggression and child development will be reviewed. The POSTnote will also review the implementation of safety measures recommended by the Byron review to ensure the digital safety of children.
