| INFOS 9(331), Start-ups in Economic Policy |
Most start-ups do not succeed in the market and cease trading after a few years. Yet substantial public funds are allocated to supporting them in many countries, including Poland. This is economically justified where support is directed at entities with the potential to scale into larger undertakings. Such start-ups help disseminate new technologies and innovative products across the economy, thereby raising productivity and contributing to growth in real wages.
