The TAB study provides an overview of developments in payment transactions up to and including February 2021. The specific properties of cash and selected cashless payment solutions are examined and compared with one another, as is payment behavior in Germany, Sweden and China. A consideration of the changing power structure in payment transactions due to the appearance of new players and the reactions of traditional credit institutions and central banks round off the study.
