Cyberviolence comprises many forms of violence using communication technology, e.g. the Internet, mobile phones, social media, online games or other forms of instant messaging. It can be experienced by all people regardless of age and gender, however, women and girls are most commonly affected. Cyberviolence is a series of behaviours such as harassment, sending unwanted messages or pornographic content, threats and intimidation, stealing data, publishing offensive content on social media. In Polish law, cyberviolence has not been defined, and the regulations used to criminalise it are found in different provisions of the Criminal Code.
