The implementation of the circular economy has been one of the European Union's policy priorities in recent years. This involves numerous obligations imposed on Member States and economic operators. The effect of the ongoing transformation is, however, to be more efficient resource management, development of new technologies, weaker pressure on the natural environment and less dependence on raw materials from outside the Union.
