Behavioural Economics
Ceja de la Cruz, Z. & Rentería Rodríguez, M. E. (2018). INCyTU Note 22 Behavioural Economics
Behavioral economics (EC in Spanish) makes it possible to design changes in the environment that promote favorable behaviors and discourage unfavorable ones. This is done in a predictable manner and without prohibiting options or significantly modifying economic stimuli. Due to their success, several governments have decided to use these incentives to promote positive consequences both individually and socially and to discourage negative consequences. In Mexico, EC-based interventions have been tried to, for example, increase the honesty of the police elements.
