Genetic Edition in Medicine
Nuñez Acosta, E. (2018). INCyTU Note 10 Genetic Edition in Medicine
Genetic editing is the process of changing, adding or removing segments of DNA to modify precisely its sequence, changing effectively the characteristics of an organism. It could be used to prevent or cure certain diseases and its use to diagnose and prevent diseases could reduce the investment required in the development of new treatments. The implementation of this biotechnological technique has medical, ethical, legal and even moral implications, so its regulation and implementation is subject to debates of international scope.
